Minted 1875 to 1878
Designed by William Barber, this unusual Twenty Cent denomination was issued in silver for only 4 years, 1875 to 1878, and two of these years were Proof only. A large number of coins were melted by the mint before they were even released. Given the tiny mintages and early melting, this obsolete denomination is a scarce coin in all grades. The series was so short-lived primarily due to its physical similarity to the Seated Liberty Quarter. What a terrific series to collect by date, or add a coin to your Type Set. Choose a grade and price that work for your collection.
This 1965 - S. S. brilliant uncirculated mint set was exactly as described. I'm delighted to have it!
As described. Fast shipping and great communication.
Very eye appealing and nice luster and original bright collor.I wish most of my Lincoln pennies looked that appealing.
