Minted 1875 to 1878
Designed by William Barber, this unusual Twenty Cent denomination was issued in silver for only 4 years, 1875 to 1878, and two of these years were Proof only. A large number of coins were melted by the mint before they were even released. Given the tiny mintages and early melting, this obsolete denomination is a scarce coin in all grades. The series was so short-lived primarily due to its physical similarity to the Seated Liberty Quarter. What a terrific series to collect by date, or add a coin to your Type Set. Choose a grade and price that work for your collection.
I STARTED TO COLLECT THESE FOR MY GRANDSON (5 y/o). THE COINS ARE BEAUTIFUL. HE WILL HAVE A NICE START ON HIS EDUCATION. YOU HAVE TO GET BOTH 2021 TYPE 1 & 2, THEY JUST GO TOGETHER.
Very happy with this one. Is in nice shape.
A very pretty coin.
Impressive quality currency for a really good value. A great addition to my collection.
The coins came as described in great looking condition and the price was excellent. Quick delivery and tracking. This is the 2nd sale like these on grouped walking Halves and both times very satisfied.
