Minted 1979 to 1999
Issued in 1979, this One Dollar coin was issued in honor of Susan B. Anthony, the American woman who fought tirelessly for women's rights. These dollar coins were struck from 1979 to 1981, and again in 1999. There is a scarce Type 2 variety for both 1979 and 1981. The U.S. Treasury hoped this coin would be used instead of the $1.00 U.S. note, but this did occur, and likely will not until the $1.00 note is removed from circulation.
Iām very satisfied with this coin, it is of great quality & is in excellent condition. I highly recommend this coin.
I like the one-off design of the 250th Anniversary, which I think boldly expresses the concept of offering freedom to its citizens. We should, as a country, consider keeping this design. Mount Vernon's example is a nice uncirculated coin.
Beautiful design, reminding me of French coins from the early 20th century, I think this coins design perfectly captures the concept of freedom. Mount Vernon's example is a nice uncirculated coin.
