Mintages for this series are quite low by today's standards, especially for the PROOF issues. Proof Silver Eagles exhibit highly polished, mirror surfaces and are some of the most exquisitely beautiful coins struck today by the U.S. Mint. Depending on the date and variety, Silver Eagles are struck at the Philadelphia, San Francisco and West Point mints.
