First struck in 1913, the Buffalo (or Indian Head) Nickel was a fitting tribute to the native American. Only in the first year 1913 were there two distinct varieties for this very collectible coin, a Buffalo on Mound, and a Buffalo on Plain. We love collecting this series and are pleased to offer defect-free examples at exceptional prices! On the obverse is the powerful bust of an Indian, with the Buffalo or Bison on the reverse. The series continued through 1938, when it was replaced with the Jefferson Nickel.
We love collecting this series and are pleased to offer defect-free examples at exceptional prices! My NY, MA, and IL silver proof quarters make absolutely beautiful coin rings; my clients were very happy and I openly shared my source coin provider as Mount vernon Coin Company. Happy to continue doing business with them.
I always receive top quality coins from Mount Vernon. This Native American coin is no exception, superb quality.
The photos didn't do the coin justice it’s a very nice coin. The coin is as described. The condition and quality are what expected from a Gem Proof coin, well worth the money. It's hard to beat the luster a Silver Proof coin. A coin in this condition looks like its hot off the press.
