Large-Size Currency (also called Horse Blankets): U.S. Paper Money was first issued in the year 1862, as the Civil War raged and there was a shortage of coinage.  These Large-size notes continued to be printed through 1923.  There are many types of large-size notes, including: National Bank Notes, Treasury Notes, Silver Certificates, Gold Certificates, United States Notes, Federal Reserve Notes, Charter Bank Notes ... and more.

Small-Size Currency: Issued 1928 to date. The types of collections that can be assembled are infinite: Gold Certificates, Silver Certificates, United States Notes, Federal Reserve Notes, National Bank Notes, Charter Bank Notes, Star Notes, Experimental Notes, WWII Emergency Issues … and more.  You can even collect by serial number, radar notes, repeater notes, and blocks.
